The educational mission of the Psychology Department is
threefold: To train psychologists with a mastery of the theories
and approaches that are prevalent in the area of scientific
psychology, as well as their practical applications; who can
apply methods of scientific research creatively and
productively; and who assimilate the principles of professional
ethics. Our
undergraduate curriculum takes 4 years and consists of courses
on general areas of psychology such as research methods,
statistics, and history of psychology; courses in related social
sciences, such as philosophy and sociology; courses in specific
fields of psychology, such as social, developmental, and
clinical psychology; and upper-level courses on specific topics
in different fields of psychology. The undergraduate program
does not offer specialization in any area of psychology, rather
it is aimed at providing a general foundation in psychology.
